  8. Dear Janene and family,
I joined Vision early in 2022 and Malc welcomed me in with open arms, a cheeky smile, and mischievous pranks.
The highlight of my induction was the day he invited me to lunch just to get to know each other better. We toured in his car around the suburbs for a while, visited the old Vision location, and then we stopped at a special place to have lunch – a Falafel shop (or what we call in Victoria with our large Greek population – Souvlaki). Even though he paid it was no expenses spared – we had chips as well. I’m not sure if he was testing the big city southerner, but we laughed a lot and really bonded quickly together. But that would be no surprise to all those that know Malc. He was a people person with a heart of gold. He will be missed but never forgotten. Whenever I think of Malc I will have a smile on my face :-)
Now in this time of loss and mourning, have courage, have peace of mind (for you are not alone), and as the scripture says… may God’s face shine upon you. God bless you Janene, the children, and the grandchildren. Phil Fusco

  9. My sincere condolences to Janene and Malc’s family. I worked with Malc at Virgin for over a decade and he was one of the most passionate, caring and positive people I have ever met. His love and pride for his family was boundless. So sorry for your loss. RIP Malc Merren xx

  10. To Janene and family we send our deepest condolences on the passing of Malcolm to his eternal reward. We remember with fondness when we worked together at Picton Assembly of God New Zealand. He played the organ and one of his favorite songs was “wonderful, wonderful Jesus is to me, counselor, mighty God, prince of peace is he saving me keeping me from all sin and shame wonderful is my redeemer praise his name”. No doubt he is singing with the angels in glory now. Love and prayers Lester and Judith

  11. Dear Janene, Ben, Nathan, Joel, Tracey, Shearna, Georgia, and family, I first met Malcolm when I was 14 and joined the Air Training Corps in Blenheim. Always a guy to make me laugh, he instilled in me the importance of grabbing life and making the most of everything. Over the years, we kept in touch as we each had challenges to navigate and successes to celebrate! He was so proud of you kids and the lives you are building, and the grand kids….well, his love was almost jumping out of his skin at times! So privileged to have shared a tiny part of life with Malcolm in my formative years. He will never be forgotten. God Bless you all xxx

  12. Dear Janene, Ben, Nathan, Joel and family. From our family to yours we send our deepest condolences to you all. We love you all and will always hold such wonderful memories of Malcolm ( Dad) in our hearts. Xx

  13. Dear Janene, unfortunately Ian and I, and Steven and his wife Jehan can’t be with you and your family today. We wanted to send our love, prayers and thoughts to you and the whole family to let you know our hearts are with you on this day when we all say farewell to Malc. The love of your lives. It was a pleasure and a great joy to work with Malc over the past few years at Vision, he was a breath of fresh air, a bright and happy man who went out of his way to meet the needs of those he worked with. He made everyone feel welcome, wanted and important…no small feat to be sure. He loved a good chat, a good laugh and as I discovered…a puzzle to solve. In fact, it became quite a game to give him a cryptic word on a particular subject to keep his occupied as he came back again and again with attempts to solve it…which he invariably did. Malc easily became a member of our ministry family and that hasn’t changed. I know the separation is probably seeming unbearable at the moment, but I’m so glad and comforted for you and all who love Malc, that the separation is temporary and that our hope of a future together again with Malc is a sure thing because of Jesus. I’m sorry that the pain is so acute now, but the reunion – in time – I’m positive will be glorious. Many thoughts and prayers to you Janene, and your family. – Much love, Mandy, Ian, Steven & Jehan Worby.

I will always remember Malcolm as a larger then life and very colourful character. I enjoyed his strong sense of humour and his deep conversations, many of which were had around a dinner table. Malcolm was a person that once you met him, you would never forget him, as we wont.
He is now flying with his Almighty Father above. Keep him in your hearts and thoughts always.

    Our love to you all.

My husband, Stuart, and I worked with Malcolm during 2020-21 with the Vision team. I thoroughly enjoyed my interactions with Malcolm, his honesty and fun nature. I have a particularly fond memory of him emceeing the Vision Christmas party we went to. He was hilarious.
