  1. Hi Toby, wishing you all the strength necessary to carry on and to remember John as he was and all the good times you had together. I am sure John is now at rest.

    Kindest regards

  2. Toby, thinking of you through this tough time. John was indeed a man who devoted his life to helping others, he will be deeply missed.
    Talk soon, Seamus and Briony.

  3. It was a pleasure to have known you John, your outlook on life was young at heart and through our occasional chats it was educational to have your opinions on how you seen things and life in general.
Who knows where life will take us and when our journey will end, it was clear that yours was fun filled and enjoyed to the max.

    To Toby
On behalf of my family and your work colleagues at Cascade our sincere condolence and thoughts are with you at this very sad time, we hope that your pain will eventually subside and only the happy memories with John will remain.

Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

  5. It was about this time three years ago that we first met John, who along with Toby welcomed us into their home, introduced us to Chimlin their cat (a spitting image of our own, Spencer!), and made us feel at home when we couldn’t have been further from our own. We fondly remember our time spent recuperating in the small caravan after months on the road, sitting together on the balcony marvelling at the colourful (greedy!) birds, learning about John’s studies and hearing about their travels around Australia. It’s a testament to John’s character that he’d go out of his way to help us as we passed through. He was loving, well-loved, and will be deeply missed.

  6. Whilst we never got to meet John, we feel we got to know him a little through Alex and Mel and what they told us when they got back from their travels. They were touched by the hospitality and kindness shown to them by John and Toby, both of whom they had never met before. They left having made two new friends for life. It is with great sadness that we learnt that John’s life had been cut short and our thoughts and prayers are with Toby at this difficult time. With love. Anita and Philip Guy xx

  7. Thank you John for your friendship. It was a pleasure to have known you and to have some fun together. You will be missed. Rest in peace.
Toby, my sincere condolences. The happy times and memories will stay forever.
    Love, Bozena xx

  8. Sadly I never had the chance to meet John, but while our son Alex and his girlfriend Melanie were touring Australia 3 years ago it was so reassuring that my late sister’s son Toby and John were there to welcome them and provide accommodation and much needed rest after their long travels.
John was a wonderful partner for Toby and helped him settle in to a new life in Australia where he’s now established himself, and it’s so sad that his dear
friend is no longer here. He was a very kind, caring and loving man and will be deeply missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Toby at this very difficult time.
