Cardboard Coffin

We are often asked about a cardboard coffin. Firstly, choosing a cardboard coffin is caring for the environment. Cardboard coffins are biodegradable and,  are constructed from recycled cardboard. They are well constructed and meet Australian Funeral Industry Standard. Also, they are a befitting alternative to the traditional coffin or casket. The use of recycled cardboard allows you to care for the environment after you have passed on.

The Byron Cardboard Coffin is the perfect option for those who wish to decorate, paint or write messages on their coffin.

Why Choose a Cardboard Casket?

Cardboard Caskets and coffins are cost-effective. The saying “Just bury me in a cardboard box”  is often heard by the Funeral Director, especially when pre-arranging a funeral. They just do not want any fuss. Well, now these requests can be acknowledged and carried through. Cardboard Caskets are also environmentally friendly. The Byron Coffin is $880.00.

Caring for our environment is a topic close to the heart of Swanborough Funerals.  Green Funerals provides natural choices that give back to our environment. The purpose of Green Burial or Natural Burial is to leave a positive carbon footprint on the environment through the regeneration of the land. The deceased is prepared in a manner that allows the natural decomposition process. No chemical preservation is used such as embalming and all natural fibre coffins are used.

So you don’t want a FUNERAL?

No Service Cremation is when the family of the deceased has chosen not to hold a funeral. The funeral director is contacted and transfers the deceased into their care. The appropriate documentation is organized with the next of kin or executor and cremation takes place. The ashes or cremated remains are returned to the next-of-kin after cremation.

Oftentimes, but not always, family and friends hold a memorial service after the cremation has taken place. No Service Cremation or No Attendance Cremation is also a dignified and cost-effective way of caring for the deceased.
